Our School Day
The school day at St. Michael’s begins at 08.50am.
Children should be taken to their entrance doors and handed over to staff. There will always be adults available to speak to at the beginning and end of each school day.
Doors close promptly at 09.00am for class registration and lessons begin almost straight away.
Punctuality is essential so that childrens’ learning is not hindered. Even missing just a few minutes of teaching will have a negative impact on learning outcomes.
Anyone arriving after 09.00am will need to report to the main office.
Main school assemblies take place at 10.10am each day and run until playtime. Whole School Assemblies are held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Main School Playtime runs from 10.30am until 10.50am each day. Nursery children access outdoor play as part of their morning session.
The Nursery session ends at 11.50am for pupils who do not access 30 hours Wrap Around Care.
Lunchtime runs from 12.00 – 13.00. This includes an outdoor play session.
Our afternoon learning session runs from 13.00 – 14.50. At the end of this, the children stop and prepare for home time.
The school day ends at 15.00 and children should be collected from either the Early Years exit or Upper School exit.
Again, staff are available at the end of each school day to speak to parents and carers.
